We are happy to announce that we have been invited to compete in the
2025 NXTPro/Puma Circuit (a 2-year commitment).
FAQ
Will you have local/regional teams like last year?
Yes, this is the most important question I would like to answer. We will continue to provide the same programming (practices, tourney schedules) as we have the last two years. The circuit is just an extension of our program. Our coaches will coach both circuit and regional/local teams. We will have weekends where teams go in different directions; however, our regional/local is the foundation of our program. This will not change moving forward.
What ages for the Iowa Suns will participate?
We will have at least 1 group for 15U, 16U, and 17U participating on the circuit this season. There is a possibility that we could have 2 per grade but not guaranteed.
What ages can participate in the NXTPro Circuit?
They do have a middle school and girls divisions as well. They actually require fewer commitments. My vision for this would be to have a 13U and 14U boys and a few HS girls teams in 2026 or 2027.
How many events are required?
HS boys: 6 events (including finals).
Do we have to wear Puma gear?
All circuit tournaments require Puma gear from top to bottom. We receive a substantial discount for this. We will order the following for our circuit teams in 2025. Then, all teams will receive this package in 2026 (Our uniforms will be 2 years old at this time).
- Reversible Uniform
- Shoes, Socks
- Slides
- Backpack
- Compression Top and Bottom
What is the schedule for our HS Circuit teams?
We are required to go to 6 events. The finals are the last date on the schedule. The 5 before that are all 4 hours or under in travel from Des Moines. This was a major factor for us. The finals will have some travel! We will go to a few more regional/local tournaments as well. We will make sure they are tournaments that are with the rest of our club.

With more travel, will there be ways to carpool or have chaperones for the kids?
Yes, we are looking into multiple options for travel. We understand that some of these dates may be difficult for both parents and athletes to attend. We will gladly arrange rides, chaperone hotels (rooms in the same hotel), etc. We will figure it out to make this possible.
Another note: we will look into sponsorships and a few ways to raise extra funds for this as well.
Will there be help to pay for travel?
We are currently working through a package for the Orlando Finals trip. We have 4 school tournaments and players that want to work the school tournaments will have the opportunity to raise money by being a scoreboard operator. A player could make $600 or more over 4 tournaments to go towards the trip and hotel.
Will expectations for players that make the circuit teams be different than those on regional/local teams?
Yes and no. We will have the same expectations of how we coach and how our kids will act at tourneys and practices. We will expect more consistency and dependability for tournaments for those that make a circuit. Because we travel more for these teams, we need to make sure that those selected will commit to those teams. If a player can’t then a regional/local team would be a better option!
